ALL SESSIONS — Kraken Ball (2:00 pm – 2:50 pm)

Welcome to the Elk Grove Kraken Water Polo Club Kraken Ball program! This recreational session is designed to introduce young athletes to the fun, fast-paced sport of water polo in a supportive and engaging environment.

Program Overview

Session Time: 2:00 pm – 2:50 pm Location: Wackford Aquatic Complex Program Type: Recreational, all sessions included

Kraken Ball focuses on building fundamental water skills, confidence in the pool, and basic water polo techniques through games, drills, and age-appropriate instruction. All enrolled athletes in this option are registered for all available sessions at the 2:00 pm – 2:50 pm time slot.

Who This Program Is For

• Youth athletes who are new to water polo or have limited prior experience.
• Swimmers who want to explore a team sport in the water.
• Players looking for a positive, recreational environment focused on learning and fun.

Basic comfort in the water is recommended. If you are unsure whether this program is the right fit, please contact us to discuss your athlete’s experience level.

What Athletes Will Learn

• Water confidence and body position
• Basic ball handling and passing skills
• Introductory shooting techniques
• Fundamental rules and concepts of water polo
• Teamwork, sportsmanship, and communication in the pool

What to Bring

• Swimsuit (athletic or training style recommended)
• Towel and water bottle
• Goggles (optional but recommended for some drills)
• Sunscreen and sandals for pool deck comfort (if outdoors)
