Kraken Elite Training – Ages 12–14 3:00pm-4:00pm

Join the Elk Grove Kraken Water Polo Club for our focused Kraken Elite session designed for athletes ages 12–14. This training is ideal for developing players who are ready to sharpen their skills, improve conditioning, and deepen their understanding of the game in a supportive, competitive environment.

Date: November 27
Time: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Location: Wackford Aquatic Complex

Please arrive 10–15 minutes early to allow time for check-in, stretching, and equipment preparation so we can begin promptly at 3:00 PM.

Who This Session Is For

This session is open to motivated athletes ages 12–14 who:

• Have basic water polo or no experience
• Are interested in more advanced training and competition
• Want to build strong fundamentals and game awareness
• Are ready to work hard, be coached, and support teammates

Newer athletes in this age range who are comfortable in deep water and eager to learn are also welcome, provided they are ready for a higher-intensity practice.

What to Expect

The 11/27 Kraken Elite session will focus on:

• Skill Development: Passing, ball handling, shooting form, and defensive positioning
• Game Concepts: Spacing, movement without the ball, and basic offensive and defensive systems
• Conditioning: Age-appropriate swim sets, leg work (eggbeater), and endurance drills
• Scrimmage Play: Controlled game situations to apply skills in live play
• Team Culture: Communication, sportsmanship, and building confidence in the water

What to Bring

• Swimsuit (water polo suit recommended, but not required)
• Goggles and swim cap (optional but recommended)
• Water bottle (labeled with athlete’s name)
• Towel and dry clothes for after practice
• Any personal gear approved by coaches (e.g., ear guards if needed)

All water polo balls, caps, and training equipment used during the session will be provided by Elk Grove Kraken Water Polo Club.

Registration & Participation

This is a recreational program session open to both current club members and new athletes.

To participate:

• Complete club registration and any required waivers prior to the session
• Ensure your athlete’s emergency contact information is up to date
• Verify any applicable fees or passes for this training date

Space may be limited to maintain a quality coach-to-athlete ratio. Early registration is encouraged.

Safety & Supervision

Athlete safety is a top priority at Elk Grove Kraken Water Polo Club. All sessions are supervised by experienced coaching staff, and training is tailored to the age and skill level of participants.

Parents and guardians are welcome to observe from designated viewing areas when available. Please follow all facility guidelines and instructions from staff while on site.
