Program Overview
Kraken Rising is a recreational water polo session designed specifically for athletes ages 9–11. This one-hour practice introduces young players to the fundamentals of water polo in a safe, fun, and supportive environment.
Our focus is on skill-building, confidence in the water, and learning to play as part of a team. No prior water polo experience is required, but basic swimming ability is recommended.
What to Expect
- Warm-up and water safety review
- Introduction to water polo rules and basic positions
- Fundamental skill work:
- Eggbeater kick and treading water
- Ball handling, passing, and catching
- Shooting technique and basic defense
- Age-appropriate drills and small-sided scrimmages
- Positive coaching focused on effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship
Who Can Participate
- Boys and girls ages 9–11
- New and returning players interested in recreational water polo
- Athletes who are comfortable swimming independently in deep water
What to Bring
- Swimsuit (one-piece recommended for girls)
- Towel and water bottle
- Goggles (optional but recommended)
- Swim cap (if preferred)
- Change of clothes and sandals

Safety & Supervision
All Kraken Rising sessions are supervised by trained coaching staff who emphasize safety, respect, and age-appropriate instruction. Our goal is to help young athletes build water confidence, learn new skills, and have fun.
