Join Elk Grove Kraken Water Polo Club for a fun and engaging introductory session designed just for our youngest athletes. This recreational “Kraken Ball” practice focuses on building water confidence, basic ball skills, and a love for the game in a safe and supportive environment.

Program: Kraken Ball – Intro to Water Polo

Location: Wackford Aquatic Complex
Who This Is For
This session is ideal for boys and girls ages 6–8 who:
- Are comfortable in the water and ready to be active
- Want a fun, game-based introduction to water polo
- Are new to the sport or have limited experience
- Enjoy team activities and learning new skills
What to Expect
Our Kraken Ball practices are structured to keep young athletes moving, smiling, and learning. Each 50-minute session includes:
- Warm-up and water confidence activities
- Basic ball-handling skills (catching, throwing, passing)
- Introductory water polo movements and simple game concepts
- Fun, age-appropriate drills and small-sided games
Coaches focus on building a positive experience in the pool while teaching cooperation, listening skills, and teamwork.
Skill Level & Requirements
No prior water polo experience is required. Participants should:
- Be between 6 and 8 years old
- Be comfortable in the water without a parent
- Be able to follow basic instructions in a group setting
What to Bring
- Swimsuit (athletic fit recommended)
- Towel
- Goggles (optional but recommended)
- Water bottle, labeled with athlete’s name
- Swim cap (optional)
