Join Elk Grove Kraken Water Polo Club for a fun, beginner-friendly Kraken Ball session designed especially for young athletes ages 6–8. This 50-minute practice introduces kids to the basics of water polo in a safe, supportive, and exciting environment.

Kraken Ball focuses on water confidence, basic ball skills, and introducing the fundamental concepts of water polo through age-appropriate games and activities.

Who This Session Is For

• Children ages 6–8 who are interested in trying water polo
• Young swimmers who enjoy team sports and water activities
• Families looking for a fun, recreational introduction to water polo

No prior water polo experience is required. Participants should be comfortable in the water and able to move independently with or without a flotation aid as permitted by the program.

What Participants Will Learn

• Basic water polo movements in shallow and/or deep water appropriate for their age
• Introductory ball-handling skills, including passing and shooting
• Teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship
• Water safety awareness in a structured, supervised setting

Instruction is delivered through short drills, fun challenges, and small games tailored to younger players.

What to Bring

• Swimsuit (athletic/secure fit recommended)
• Towel
• Goggles (optional, if your child prefers)
• Water bottle, labeled with your child’s name
• Flip-flops or sandals for pool deck

Parent & Guardian Information

Parents and guardians are welcome to observe from designated viewing areas. Our coaching staff is experienced in working with young athletes and is committed to creating a positive, encouraging atmosphere for all participants.

Please arrive a few minutes early to allow time for check-in and to help your child get settled before the session begins at 2:00 pm.
