Join Elk Grove Kraken Water Polo Club for a fun, beginner-friendly Kraken Ball session designed just for young athletes ages 6–8. This 50-minute class introduces basic water polo skills in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.

Who This Program Is For

This Kraken Ball session is ideal for:

• Children ages 6–8 who are comfortable in the water and want to try water polo
• Young swimmers looking for a fun, team-based water sport
• Families seeking a safe and positive introduction to aquatic sports

What Athletes Will Learn

Our coaches focus on age-appropriate skills that build confidence and promote a love of the water, including:

• Basic water safety and pool awareness
• Comfort and movement in deep and shallow water (as appropriate)
• Introductory water polo skills:
  • Ball handling and passing
  • Shooting fundamentals
  • Simple positioning and teamwork concepts
• Listening, cooperation, and sportsmanship

Program Format

This 50-minute session blends instruction with games to keep young players engaged:

• Short warm-up and water safety review
• Skill-building drills tailored to ages 6–8
• Fun, small-sided games and activities
• Cool-down and wrap-up with coaches

Requirements and What to Bring

• Basic water comfort; prior water polo experience is not required
• Swimsuit (one-piece recommended for girls)
• Towel and goggles (optional but recommended)
• Water bottle labeled with your child’s name
• Arrive a few minutes early to check in and be ready to enter the water at 2:00 pm

• Experienced coaches leading age-appropriate activities
• Emphasis on safety, respect, and positive encouragement
• Parent/guardian presence at the facility is recommended during the session

How to Register

Advance registration is required to ensure appropriate staffing and pool space.

• Submit any required waivers and emergency contact information
• Payment details and confirmation will be provided during registration
